Colibri MQ
May 2007
Gaucho III (gray) x Oliva Jim (gray)
Inscribed in Spanish Stud Book
The elegance of both sire and dam (a daughter of Indiano XVIII) is evident in this young gray gelding. He has a lovely Baroque convex profile to his head and movement that should definitely make him the dressage prospect he was bred to be, particularly through his Qualified sire, Gaucho III, a well known Grand Prix competitor.
Colibri’s temperament is outgoing, and he is easy to handle. Well over 16 hands already, this colt will be large and imposing, most likely 17 hands, a dramatic presence in the ring, with the structure to carry his size. Colibri was started with 3 months of professional under-saddle training and is now in his 6th month of dressage work with Ariane Rezvani. One trainer said “Working with Colibri is like a dialogue, a conversation between us. He’s intelligent and willing.”
Colibri has a lovely head and neck, strong bone, and a fabulous shoulder, generating 3 true gaits. We expect him to be competitive in Dressage at open shows, plus he will be able to go on trail. He trailers, ties, and has excellent ground manners. All indications are that he will mature into a solid horse for an Amateur, with the potential to go all the way.
