Our Stallions
Bandalor MQ at the P.R.E. National Championships

Bandalor MQ

May 2006
Dominante XXIX (bay) x Oliva Jim (gray)
Inscribed & Revised in Spanish Stud Book
University of California,Davis color tested: EE/AA and N/G (G/g)

Our own Marquesa-bred young gray stallion will be offered to a very limited number of mares in his first year at stud, 2011. Bandalor’s coat color tests as E/E, A/A, and N/G (or G/g with some color testing labs), meaning his basic coat color is dark bay and he carries one copy of the gray gene, hence his own graying. Even though the horse is gray, he still has all the genetics of the color he was before going gray. This genetic profile suggests 50% of his offspring will be gray as well, the rest color.   Stud fees and Contract, starting with the 2011 breeding season, available upon request.

Bandalor’s dam Oliva Jim carries the Conesa/Romero Benitez/Bocado blood of Indiano XVIII plus Lovera & Yeguada Militar from Revoltosa X. His sire Dominante XXIX’s bloodlines are Escalera & Yeguada Militar. A 7-generation pedigree is available upon request.

Bandalor is extremely balanced and a wonderful combination of elegance and structural correctness with good bone and very sound feet. In motion, he is powerful and rhythmical. This young stallion’s temperament is exemplary, sensitive, and cooperative. He was designated an Approved Breeding Stallion in late summer, 2009. And at his first show, the October 2009 PRE National Celebration in Del Mar, California, he won Campeon Joven De La Raza, (Ch. Junior Stallion) under 3 Spanish judges Col. Javier Velazquez Rivera, Col. Jose Maria Fernandez Olmedo, and Lt. Col. Leon Sanchez Zorilla.

Future Yeguada Marquesa Stallion
Genio MAC

Donatello MQ

April 2009
Gaucho III (gray) x Jijona IV (gray)
Bay Colt, Inscribed in the Spanish Studbook and Eligible for Revision

A pumpkin bay, Donatello has color DNA checked by the University of California, Davis and tested as Ee/Aa, with no copies of the gray gene.

Even as a foal, Donatello demonstrated regal self-carriage and balance. Just a growing boy, his suspension when moving speaks well of a dressage future. His slightly convex head, graceful neck and shoulders, strong topline and croup, powerful hindquarters, and good bone express the beauty and strength of the Pure Spanish Horse.

Donatello’s outgoing personality and movement reflect the style and class of his internationally famous Grand Prix and Qualified sire. His dam adds in the beauty, even, sweet temperament, and refinement of her Conesa line. Time will tell, but we expect him to be one of our future stallions.

Dominante XXIX

Dominante XXIX

QualifiedYeguada Villa MazzaraFebruary 2000
Dominante XVI x Gamera
Bred by Yeguada Villa Mazzara outside of Barcelona, Spain

This mahogany bay Qualified stallion carries Escalera and Yeguada Militar bloodlines. This blending of bloodlines has proven most successful in the production of horses capable of modern sports requirements.

Dom was the first stallion with “Qualified Status” to be imported to the U.S and is owned by the Nickersons of Snowy Peaks Ranch in Utah. He captured the US National P.R.E.  Championship as “Campeon de La Raza” at Celebration 2005 and again in 2009.  His focus now turned to dressage, Dom is now competing at Prix St Georges, training Intermediaire I, and has qualified for the USDF Regional Championships at Prix St Georges. Dom stands 16.3 hands. As his winning record and Qualified status indicates, Dominante is very correct morphologically with good bone, correct head and neck, an exceptional croup, and three good gaits.  He also has a lovely temperament.

Gaucho III

QualifiedYeguada Señorio de BariainFebruary 1990
Panadero VIII x Bizarra XIII
Bred by Yeguada Señorio de Bariain, Spain

This 16.1 hand gray stallion caused a sensation internationally as an extraordinary dressage competitor. With world class gaits, he competed at Intermediate I and Grand Prix levels. Gaucho III is a half-brother to the Spanish Olympic Team’s Invasor II, and both are grandsons of Lebrijano III—a lineage shared by many Spanish dressage horses of the current generation. An unfortunate injury in 2000 put an end to his competitive career, but Gaucho has now made his mark as a sire of quality in the United States, Spain, Mexico and Costa Rica.

In 2007, GAUCHO III was presented to the First Spanish Tribunal on US soil, for approval as a “Qualified” Stallion. At 17 years old, he was one of the oldest horses presented, as most horses present at 4 to 6 years of age. He was approved for Qualified status for his physical structure, wonderful movement, and extreme quality. Gaucho III carries Yeguada Militar, Miura, Bocado/Terry, and Escalera bloodlines. Owned by Janne Rambaugh of MTICA Farms in Florida, who imported him in 1996, competing with a great deal of success. Janne is continuing to make a mark in the US dressage world with Gaucho’s children.

Indiano XVIII

Indiano XVIII

Nobleza Del Guadiana January 1985
Cazador IX x Bondadosa II
Bred by Nobleza Del Guadiana (Conesa), Spain

Indiano XVIII is a treasure, representing the Romero Benitez bloodlines of Spain. He was presented as an adult in Spain at six important morphological (conformation) shows, and at each of these he won first prize, gold medal, and champion of the breed. On two occasions he was also supreme champion of functionality. He was Grand Champion in Mexico and Best Movement Champion both times out in the United States.

Indiano XVIII was the first P.R.E. brought into the US to be syndicated, both because of the price required to purchase him and to better manage his use as a stallion, i.e. he would stand only to mares of Syndicate members and a very few outside mares they nominated.

Indiano stands 16.1 hands. He’s known for his beauty, correctness, type, and movement—all set off by his pearly white coat and arrogant bearing. His children, ranging in color from gray to bay to black, have won top honors in Spain, Mexico, Costa Rica and the USA, exemplifying the influence of this stallion on the P.R.E.
